Iron Man 2: Review

Everybody knows that I think Robert Downey Jr. is pretty much the coolest movie star in the entire world (Simon Baker is my favorite TV actor and also my celebrity dad), and so seeing Iron Man 2 was at the top of my priority list. Everybody should go see it, not because it's the best movie ever, but because RDJ is awesome. Anyways, review time!

Pros: More action and fight scenes this time and there were more characters involved the entire story line, unlike the first movie. I really liked that they didn't reform Tony Stark completely but actually made him more egotistic, proving that this genius wasn't perfect. Mr. Hammer, Stark's rival, was so annoying in the part. Justin Rockwell did a great job of playing the part, because he succeeded in making the audience want to punch him in the face for being so patronizing. I loved that he treated Mickey Rourke like a 5-year-old kid. Also, Tony Stark wore this totally awesome robe in one scene and I really really want it. Unfortunately, I can't find a picture online so you will just have to watch the movie yourselves.

Cons: The story line definitely wasn't as defined as the last movie and deviated a little bit. And the actor replacement for Tony Stark's BFF was really weird because the first James Rhodes was really funny in the role but the second actor was downright stoic. And at the end, Tony and Pepper kiss. I could've sworn that at the end of the last movie, they were already together and for some reason this kiss was portrayed as a very big deal. I never really liked Pepper anyways. Another thing: Samuel L. Jackson in a weird leather jacket and an eyepatch? Totally unnecessary. Scarlett Johanssen was eh. I liked the stuff she wore to the office though. Overall, the movie was a bit too cheesy and clumsy, but what superhero movie isn't?
